If you think you have it tough being a Mets fan in New York, think again. I live in the San Francisco/Bay Area and this past season we had two, I repeat TWO teams go to the post season. While you may have some buddies of yours that are Mets fans in your office building or some that are your neighbors, over here it's incredibly hard to find a Mets fan. You can go to plenty of your favorite team's games without much struggle. Hard to do that on the other coast. But, it's not only that. Take for example that the Mets haven't been in the playoffs in years, something that we mutually understand, and that the team that I live right next to (the Giants) have won the World Series twice in the past three years. They have had lights out pitching, sluggers, great seasons in the past few years. And although this gives them power to brag. The fans here/even some of my buddies like to make fun of the Mets and how we have been horrendous the past few seasons. I point out that we have a bright young core, and a joke is made about how the Mets suck. I point out how the Mets did something WRIGHT by signing the face of the franchise and they say they the Mets signed David so an absurd contract. I'm sure these are common things that New York Mets fans and others have to deal with but don't get me wrong. There are benefits, but we can discuss those another time.
I hope to have some more content coming out soon. If you live outside the New York Area, share your story with us!
-Happy Holidays, Bay Area Mets Fan
